The youth of our parish are welcome to engage in the celebration as greeters, gift bearers, altar servers, ushers, lectors, cantors, instrumentalists and choir members. This is a wonderful way for the parish as a whole to recognize the important ways our youth contribute to the life of the community, and as vital members of our Church." A Children's Liturgy of the Word will take place on the third Sunday of each month. Any child or youth is welcome to participate. Those interested will begin the celebration with the whole assembly, and then when invited by Father Fred after his opening rites, will process to a separate worship space with the designated adults. The structure of the Liturgy of the Word with children takes the same form as the Liturgy of the Word with the general assembly, except that one of the first two readings is omitted. The group will return to the general assembly in time for the Offertory. "The celebrations of these liturgies are intended to form children in the liturgical language of the Church, to nourish and guide their spiritual growth, and to immerse them in the Word in ways that are understandable to them."
